Applications that show a clear connection between a host mentor’s research goals and your own graduate work, as well as expanding your own research, will be prioritized.

The following information should be included in the letter: (1) a description of how well the applicant fits this program; (2) an acknowledgment that they understand the requirement of the applicant to attend the Summer School in Ecuador in May and a Research Experience following (2-10 weeks); (3) an acknowledgement of the scope and limitations of the support the PATHWAYS program offers (partial living stipend and no tuition), (4) a description of what financial and mentorship support the mentor can offer during the PATHWAYS experience.
